HODINKEE now has an established history of releasing some pretty damn cool limited edition timepieces with storied brands, from a special Slim d’Hèrmes to an awesome IWC pilot’s watch and more. Now, the renowned horological website has turned its sights on the world of dive watches in a special collaboration with Oris.

Regular GP readers will be familiar with the Divers Sixty-Five , a collection based originally upon a model that appeared in Oris’s 1965 watch catalog. The Sixty-Five line has spawned numerous iterations and plays upon the 60s-inspired theme, including several chronographs.

The new Oris Divers Sixty-Five Limited Edition For HODINKEE, however, makes use of a streamlined design philosophy and pares down the watch to its bare essence. Featuring a faded black dial with printed markers, no date, plenty of lume for increased visibility and a bubble-domed, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, this is a handsome homage to the 1960s if ever there was one, and the “ghost” grey bezel gives it an added aura of patina and use.

Notably, this version of the Sixty-Five uses a specially modified hand-wound version of an Oris caliber based upon the Sellita 210-1, making it the first version to use a manually wound movement, and allowing for a relatively slim 11.82mm x 40mm case. Accompanying the LE is a handsome rivet-style stainless steel bracelet, as well as the HODINKEE Sedona Strap in black, giving the wearer plenty of choice for dressing the watch up or down.

Produced in a limited run of 250 individually numbered pieces and available exclusively in the HODINKEE Shop, the Oris Divers Sixty-Five Limited Edition For HODINKEE retails for $2,300.
