Tudor chose the 2025 Miami Grand Prix to reveal its latest F1-inspired timepiece, honoring its ongoing partnership with the Visa Cash App Racing Bulls (VCARB) team.

Like the Tudor Black Bay Ceramic โ€œBlueโ€ launched last year, Tudor has used the opportunity to experiment with materials to emphasize the timepieceโ€™s motorsports connection.

Hereโ€™s everything you need to know about the new Tudor Black Bay Chrono โ€œCarbon 25.โ€

Mystery Solved

The Tudor Black Bay Chrono "Carbon 25" watch is shown lying on a blue-colored table next to a Tudor-branded racing glove and F1 helmet.
Tudor was heavily teasing the upcoming release of the Black Bay Chrono โ€œCarbon 25โ€ at the 2025 edition of the Watches and Wonders trade show in Geneva earlier in April.
Tudor

Early this year, at the worldโ€™s biggest watch trade show, Watches and Wonders Geneva, our team had the opportunity to preview and go hands-on with most of Tudorโ€™s upcoming 2025 releases, including the new Pelagos Ultra, Black Bay 58 with Master Chronometer Certification, and the Tudor Black Bay Pro with a white dial.

But a large countdown clock positioned next to a replica VCARB F1 car inside the brandโ€™s massive booth mightโ€™ve been the most intriguing thing we saw there.

It was clearly teasing an upcoming racing watch, but we had no idea what it might look like.

A New Case for the Race

Tudorโ€™s quietly developed extensive experience working with carbon fiber in the last few years. The brand released its first-ever carbon fiber watch, which was also the first for its parent company, Rolex, back in 2023 with the launch of the 43mm Tudor Pelagos FXD.

As the โ€œCarbon 25โ€ in the watchโ€™s name implies, the stand-out feature of the Tudor Black Bay Chrono โ€œCarbon 25โ€ is a carbon fiber case and matching one-piece carbon fiber tachymeter bezel, sub-counters and even carbon fiber end links.

Buyers and admirers should bring a loupe to admire the carbon fiber detailing on the sub-counters.

The level of detail here highlights Tudorโ€™s increasing familiarity with working with the strong, ultra-lightweight material. The brand released its first-ever carbon fiber watch, which was also the first for its parent company, Rolex, back in 2023 with the launch of the 43mm Tudor Pelagos FXD.

Besides the material change, Tudor made additional changes to the case to distinguish the F1 collaboration from its core Black Bay Chrono references.

At 42mm wide and 13.3mm thick, the Black Bay โ€œCarbon 25โ€ is a mm wider and also slightly thinner than the typical stainless steel Black Bay Chrono.

At 42mm wide and 13.3mm thick, itโ€™s a mm wider and also slightly thinner than the typical stainless steel cased version.

It feels natural to presume that the Tudor Black Bay Chrono โ€œCarbon 25โ€ is lighter than its stainless steel cousins, but Tudorโ€™s press materials donโ€™t include an official weight.

Internally, the watch is powered by the same MT5813 chrono movement used in the rest of the Black Bay Chrono family.

More Motorsport Details

The โ€œracing whiteโ€ dial and blue and red details are an obvious nod to Red Bull Racingโ€™s livery, but should appeal to a wide array of watch fans.

The โ€œracing whiteโ€ dome dial, alongside other red and blue colored dial elements, is an obvious nod to the livery of Red Bull Racing. Still, other more subtle details acknowledge the brand relationship further.

The hybrid leather-rubber strap included with the watch includes a โ€œtire pattern.โ€

The case back also features an engraving of the F1 car and a numeric engraving acknowledging the limited edition nature of the piece.

Only 2,025 Black Bay Chronograph โ€œCarbon 25โ€ examples will be made, which is in line with Tudorโ€™s past moves of releasing partnership watches in limited quantities.

Priced at a Premium

The Tudor Black Bay โ€œCarbon 25โ€ is notably more expensive than the stainless steel Black Bay, and even Tudorโ€™s other carbon watches at a retail price of $7,575.

Anyone remotely familiar with carbon fiber knows that the miracle material isnโ€™t cheap.

Who knows if material costs alone are responsible for the increase, but the Black Bay Chronograph โ€œCarbon 25โ€ retails for $7,575, representing a significant price hike over the stainless steel Black Bay Chronographโ€™s starting price point of $5,775.

While most of the Black Bay Chronograph โ€œCarbon 25โ€ is made from carbon fiber, the crown and pushers are made from PVD-finished titanium.
Tudor

Itโ€™s also more expensive than Tudorโ€™s carbon composite Pelagos FXD Cycling and Pelagos FXD Chrono, though itโ€™s worth emphasizing that neither of those references is a limited edition.

In the larger context of the carbon fiber watch market, though, the โ€œCarbon 25โ€ could be fairly considered more in the middle of the price spectrum.

Building a Lead

Overall, thereโ€™s a lot to like about the Black Bay Chronograph โ€œCarbon 25โ€, especially for motorsport fans โ€“ even of other teams.

The color scheme of white, blue, and black is eye-catching and pretty universal in its appeal, especially for anyone looking for a lightweight yet tough sports watch for summer adventures.

It also joins a family with eye-catching Flamingo Blue and Miami Pink versions.

Taken alongside those other releases, itโ€™s safe to say that Tudorโ€™s Black Bay Chrono has quickly become one of the most on-trend and stylistically distinct chronograph families on the market right now.

Tudor Black Back Chrono โ€œCarbon 25โ€

Unveiled at the 2025 Miami Grand Prix, the Black Back Chrono โ€œCarbon 25โ€ follows in the footsteps of Tudorโ€™s Chrono Pink and Flamingo Blue releases. The latest edition of the Black Bay Chrono family features a carbon fiber case and matching one-piece carbon fiber tachymeter bezel; even sub-counters and end links are fashioned from carbon fiber. Tudor also opted for a case that measures 42mm by 13.3mm โ€” meaning itโ€™s wider but thinner than the stainless-steel version.
