Back in May of this year, Timex launched what is arguably its best watch ever. The affordable watch brand teamed up with stylish EDC favorite The James Brand to craft a brand-new GMT model that wasn’t based on any existing watch in Timex’s vast catalog.

The watch boasted a case and bracelet made of lightweight titanium, a 200-meter water resistance rating and the acclaimed Miyota 9075 automatic “true” GMT movement. It also looked cool as hell, with The James Brand giving the watch the same sleek and modern aesthetic the brand routinely applies to its pocket knives and other EDC gear.

Best of all, the watch was priced at just $750, making it perhaps the best GMT watch on the market at its price point. Unsurprisingly, it sold out in a flash, but in a Gear Patrol exclusive, I can report that the Timex x The James Brand Titanium Automatic GMT is now back in a brand-new colorway.

Emerald Edition

If you missed out on the new Timex x The James Brand Titanium Automatic GMT the first time around, then today is your lucky day. The new collab between the two brands is the exact same watch as before, just in a different color.

That means you’re still getting the 41mm titanium barrel-shaped case, the rotating 24-hour bezel, the quick-release titanium bracelet and resin strap, the AR-coated sapphire crystal, the Super-LumiNova lume, the sapphire display caseback with The James Brand logo … you get the idea.

So what’s the story with the new colorway?

Well, it’s a bit more colorful than the previous edition. While the original watch went with a black and gray color scheme featuring pops of TJB’s signature bright green shade, the new version is a bit more adventurous — both literally and figuratively.

The emerald green dial was inspired by the natural beauty of the Atlantic coastline and the deep woods of Nova Scotia, providing a striking yet harmonious contrast with the titanium case.

Timex and TJB have dubbed the new iteration of the watch the “Emerald Edition.” It features a dial and bezel in a matching shade of bluish-green that was inspired by the woods of Nova Scotia, Canada, which is quite fitting for a travel/adventure watch. The lush green color is contrasted by the use of bright white on the hands and all dial and bezel markings, making for an extremely legible watch.
