2024 has been the year of the pink watch.

From Tudor’s viral pink Black Bay Chrono to Grand Seiko’s pink twist on its flagship Snowflake to Moser’s mind-meltingly cool Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton collab with the BWT Alpine F1 team, the polarizing color has been everywhere this year.

Now, it’s TAG Heuer’s turn. The brand is no stranger to pink watches. Its hot pink Carrera was a mainstay on the wrist of brand ambassador Ryan Gosling while he was making the rounds last summer promoting the Barbie movie. Now, TAG has added the vibrant hue to its most recognizable watch, the Monaco Chronograph.

Vegas Pink?

Launched in time for the upcoming Las Vegas F1 Grand Prix on November 24, the Monaco Chronograph Skeleton in pink. TAG Heuer says the pink color was inspired by the “lively ambiance of Las Vegas and its iconic city lights.” Eh, unless they’re talking about the Flamingo specifically, I don’t see it. The release would’ve made more sense for the Miami Grand Prix back in May, but I digress.

Regardless of the accuracy of the inspiration, this much is true: The watch looks awesome. I dare say that the Monaco has never looked cooler, as its combination of hot pink and matte black with the skeletonized dial just dials up the perfect fusion of killer style and modern luxury watchmaking.

The case is made of titanium and has been given a black DLC finish, while the subdials, chronograph hands and indices — which are also a seamless part of the skeletonized dial pattern — are all given the hot pink treatment.

I’ve always thought that pink and black look great together, perhaps due to my childhood fandom of professional wrestler Bret Hart and the pink and black attack, but I don’t see how anyone could find this new Monaco anything but gorgeous.

Powering the watch is the same movement you’ll find in other Monaco Skeletons, the in-house Calibre Heuer 02 automatic column wheel chronograph with 80 hours of power on tap. In this case, however, the rotor has been treated to a black and pink finish while the column wheel itself has been rendered entirely in pink.

The strap is blacked-out to match the case, a stitched leather and rubber hybrid with a loopless design and a black DLC titanium deployant.

Pricing and Availability

Despite being unveiled in tandem with a Formula One race, the new TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Skeleton Pink is not a limited edition. That means you should be able to buy one long after the race is concluded, which is great news, because I really love the look of this thing.

The price, on the other hand, is, well, less lovable. The watch is priced at $11,250, which isn’t unexpected — it’s the exact same SRP as TAG Heuer’s other black DLC titanium Monaco Skeletons — but it definitely means I won’t be adding one to my collection.
