Just when you thought it was safe to get back in the water…
Seiko launches a limited edition Prospex “Turtle” celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Jaws theatrical release.

The Japanese watchmaker couldn’t have picked a better watch to decorate for the occasion. Even though the brand has a long list of noteworthy dive watches, the “Turtle” is arguably the most iconic and beloved.
First released in 1976 as the 6306 in Japan and 6309 abroad, the affordable high-performance dive watch gained its moniker because the case resembled a turtle shell, combined with its aquatic aptitude.

Several iterations of the “Turtle” followed, including the fan-favorite “Captain Willard” worn in Apocalypse Now. Then, in 2016, Seiko revived the original design with a new movement under the Prospex umbrella.
