There’s an unspoken annual tradition in the world of watch media to assign a trend to each year’s new releases. From 2018’s year of the Pepsi GMT to the green-watch takeover of 2021, there’s generally a consensus that forms right after the year’s biggest industry trade show.
However, there was no true consensus at this year’s Watches and Wonders Geneva show. Brands’ releases were kind of all over the map, with some companies playing it safe, some acting as crowd-pleasers and others getting a little weird.
But looking outside of the Watches and Wonders releases, there’s actually a pretty clear trend that’s forming in the world of watches. For brands as diverse as H. Moser & Cie., Tudor and Zodiac, their most hyped watches of 2024 all share one thing in common: They’re all pink.
Moser’s Miami Moment

I recently ventured down to Miami for the 2024 Formula One Miami Grand Prix, where I got the chance to check out the latest release from independent Swiss brand H. Moser & Cie. The brand recently became the watch partner of BWT Alpine F1 Team, and to celebrate, Moser launched a special pink version of the Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Alpine Limited Edition that had been released in blue just a couple of weeks earlier. (Alpine’s official team colors are blue and pink.)
I had the opportunity to wear the watch around the Paddock Club for a bit, and even in that one-percenter playground where practically everyone is wearing a radically expensive, rare and incredible watch, the Moser — with its bright pink rubber strap, skeletonized in-house tourbillon movement and pink spinel dial — especially stood out.
