Omega Finally Reveals the Dressy Dive Watch That Daniel Craig Has Teased for Months

It uses a gold and bronze alloy developed by the Swiss watchmaker.

Four years after exiting the franchise, Daniel Craig continues to influence the coolest watches coming from 007’s go-to brand.

Britain’s most famous fictional spy has been intertwined with Omega since Pierce Brosnan portrayed him in the 1990s. But the watches that have come out of the partnership in the Dainel Craig era have been a parade of hits.

From the vintage-inspired Spectre Seamaster 300 to Craig’s final outing in the No Time to Die date-less Seamaster Diver 300, each watch has set the tone for Omega’s marquee dive watch line.

Released in the fall of 2024, the new standard issue Seamaster Diver 300 is essentially the Not Time to Die reference from 2020 minus a few dial markings. It is based on Omega’s beloved SMP300 case that dates back to the 1990s.

We’ve seen the new Seasmaster Diver in steel and titanium through various special editions and general releases, but this is the first time it has incorporated Omega’s proprietary Bronze Gold Alloy.

Not exactly gold

Omega has wisely not messed with a good thing by keeping all the important design elements in place from the last 007 Edition Seamaster and updating materials, textures, and colors on subsequent releases. The new Bronze Gold references–there are two, based on the strap–are the most impressive since the last Bond watch.

Omega developed the alloy used here by blending 37.5 percent gold with mostly bronze and a bit of silver and palladium for stability. The amount of gold included is technically enough to call the watch 18-karat gold, but the appearance is distinctly different.

It has an aged tone but not a faux patina. The brushed finish still looks pristine, with a luster that is more like polished bronze. According the brand, it will retain that finish with minimal effort.

Omega’s new alloy also boasts enhanced durability. The precious metals prevent corrosion that commonly plagues bronze, and the bronze strengthens the gold by fending off scratches and discoloration.

The newest Bond watch

As has been the case in recent years, Craig has hinted at this new release by wearing it to public events. Even though eagle-eyed Omega fans saw this one coming, it remains impressive as ever.

The 2020 007 Edition Seamaster Diver 300M balanced modern and vintage design elements so masterfully that it has set the standard for the illustrious diver ever since. The most outstanding design change was removing the date window, which tidied up the dial for a sleeker appearance.

The dial on the new Bronze Gold Seamaster is remarkably similar to the 007 reference. Faded gold applied indices Omega logo on this new version look remarkably similar to the faux patina color used on the 007 edition.

Both are placed on a matte black dial, but the script Seamaster logo has been changed from red to white here, and the arrow icon at six o’clock has been removed.

The hands are inlaid with the same color lume, but the metal has been updated from steel to a bronze-gold finish. Additionally, the red tip on the second hand has been removed.

Where the bezel matched the dial on the 007 edition, the Bronze Gold version creates a balanced contrast with a rich burgundy bezel. However, the bezel markings still match the dial markings.

This particular shade of red blends perfectly with Omega’s Bronze Gold alloy and the matte black dial. It is a color pallet that has worked well for a particular Tudor dive watch.

Availability and pricing

The Omega Seamaster Diver 300m Bronze Gold is available now from select authorized retailers and Omega boutiques. It will soon be available for purchase online.

There are technically two references available in the new Bronze Gold Seamaster. There is a bronze-gold mesh bracelet reference for $27,900, and an integrated rubber strap with a bronze-gold clasp reference for $13,900.

This is not a limited edition, so while it may be challenging to land one now, it should eventually be readily available.
