Welcome to Talking Points, a series that looks at what makes certain products worth talking about, brought to you by Gear Patrol Studios.

In 2022, Longines introduced the Longines Spirit Zulu Time, a multi-time-zone line named after the brand’s first dual-time-zone watch made back in 1925. With its rotating 24-hour bezel and modern aesthetics, the Longines Spirit Zulu Time moved the Longines Spirit collection in a sportier direction.

Now, the Longines Spirit collection is growing again, this time with an extremely lightweight and robust Titanium reference. Here’s everything you need to know about the Longines Spirit Zulu Time Titanium.

The same Longines Spirit Zulu Time, only lighter and stronger

A true tool watch, this new Longines Spirit Zulu Time is water-resistant up to 10 bar (100 meters) and made from Grade 5 titanium, an alloy that is both lighter and more robust than steel.

The new case sports the same dimensions as its stainless steel predecessor — 39mm diameter, 13.50mm thickness — putting it in the goldilocks zone of wearability for most wrists.

The watch comes on an interchangeable bracelet, also crafted from grade 5 titanium, with a double-security folding clasp and pusher-operated opening mechanism.

The bi-directional ceramic bezel with 24-hour scale is divided into two shades, matte and polished black, to indicate the hours of the day and night, respectively.

The anthracite dial features a date aperture at 6 o’clock, Super‐LumiNova® coated applied Arabic numerals and gold-plated hands.

The matte black GMT hand has a red tip with a luminescent arrow, in the same color as the “Zulu Time” inscription on the dial.

It’s powered by a chronometer-certified GMT calibre

Tucked inside this watch’s titanium case is an exclusive Longines GMT calibre L844.4 that’s equipped with a silicon balance-spring. It offers ten times the resistance to magnetic fields than the ISO 764 reference standard.

This extremely precise self-winding mechanical movement has a power reserve of up to 72 hours, and it is officially certified as a chronometer by the COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres).

A titanium reference further improves the already loved Longines Spirit Zulu Time collection

It’s no secret that we’re fans of the Longines Spirit Zulu Time (our editors named it one of the most exciting releases of 2022, when the line was first introduced). With the addition of a titanium reference, fans have one more reason to love this versatile, precision tool watch.
