Released in 2024, the GD-010 and GA-010 brought a bevy of classic G-Shock qualities to the masses. Large displays, 10-year batteries and carbon fiber-reinforced housing, all for $99 and $120, respectively.
Now, the introduction of Cordura Re/cor straps bring a touch of military-grade toughness to two of the brand’s best affordable beaters, with an eye toward sustainability.

Call in the reinforcements
Cordura was originally developed by DuPont in the first half of the 20th century, and it didn’t take long for the US military to use the highly durable fabric to reinforce vehicle tires and tank treads.
Today, it’s found its way into civilian backpacks, military apparel and, in this case, watch straps. However, the type fabric used in the colorful G-Shock GD-010CE-5 and GA-010CE-2A isn’t your typical Cordura of yesteryear.
