Donald Trump Just Launched a Dive Watch. Here’s What You Need to Know

Former President Trump is no stranger to licensing his name to consumer products. But his cobranding efforts have picked up as America edges ever closer to an election.

In the last 12 months alone, everything from sneakers and hard cider to bibles and NFT trading cards have carried the Trump brand. Soon, a new line of watches will, too.

It won’t be Trump’s first foray into the category. The Donald J. Trump Signature Collection, sold exclusively at Macy’s flagship department store in New York City, came out in 2005 but was quickly discontinued.

Now, a new Trump watch collection is being sold directly via GetTrumpWatches.com, clearly with the former President’s blessing, as he appears in a promotional video touting the timepieces.

The collection consists of two different timepieces.

The Fight Fight Fight appears to be an affordable dive watch

Trump Watches

There are plenty of affordable watches costing $500 or less these days. Some are legitimate functioning dive watches, while others just borrow the genre’s aesthetics.

The Trump Fight Fight Fight isn’t explicitly marketed as a dive watch, though it is water resistant up to 200 meters and clearly meant to look like one.

It measures 42 mm, features an undisclosed automatic movement, and includes dive watch cues like a unidirectional rotating bezel marked for tracking 60 minutes of diving time, a design and function popularized in large part by iconic dive watches like the Rolex Submariner.

What separates this watch from others is the Trump name, which appears in all caps, and an embossed Trump signature on the face, both of which sandwich the watch hands.

The Fight Fight Fight Red edition clearly nods to the bright red shade mostly associated with the Make America Great Again baseball hat frequently worn by Trump and his supporters.

There’s also a two-toned silver and gold version with a black face and a full gold-tone version available.

The Red Silver Tone and Silver Gold Tone are available for pre-order for $499 and are apparently limited, although the total number of watches isn’t listed.

A more expensive Onyx Gold Tone version costs $799 and will be limited to 1,000 pieces.

The line also includes the limited Trump Victory Tourbillion

Trump Watches

The Trump Victory Tourbillion (pronounced “tour bee yon” and French for “whirlwind” in a nod to the way the watch complication moves) is limited to 147 pieces and consists of three different models. Trump stated in the promotional video that he owned watch number 1.

Each watch will ship with two case backs. One will feature a personalized “Thank You” message from Trump engraved on the back.

Based on the website’s press images, personalized, in this context, appears to mean that the buyer’s name will appear above the phrase “Let’s think BIG!” Another clear glass case back will also be included for buyers who’d prefer an unobstructed view of the watch’s movement.

Speaking of the movement, details around what powers the watch are slim. What is shared is that the so-called TX07 Tourbillion movement is Swiss-made and manual, which means the watch must be hand-wound by turning the crown clockwise regularly to keep running. It features a 105-hour power reserve.

All versions of the The Trump Victory cost $100,000.

But this key legal disclaimer shouldn’t be ignored

The website states that both the Fight Fight Fight and Trump Victory Tourbillion will start shipping for free as early as October. The Fight Fight Fight includes a one-year replacement guarantee, while the Victory Tourbillion lists a “2 Year Limited Warranty.”

However, the legal disclaimer at the bottom of every page on the GetTrumpWatches.com site also states the following:

“The images shown are for illustration purposes only and may not be an exact representation of the product.”

As such, anyone who wants a Trump Watch should be prepared for the possibility of getting something other than what they ordered.
