It doesn’t matter if you’re a collector, military personnel or just an average Joe. G-Shock means tough.

How else would you describe a watch that can withstand a drop from a tall building or direct hits with a hammer?

However, even for G-Shock, the brand’s latest collection goes hard.

The brand-new Black and Bold Red Collection sees iconic G-Shock models take to the Dark Side with blacked-out cases and red-tinted displays that wouldn’t look out of place on Darth Vader’s wrist — or, say, in a burgeoning collection of affordable tool watches.

Tough and tactical

The collection consists of five G-Shock classics, including the stalwart 5600 and newer entries, such as the GD010 and CasiOak.

The most novel of the bunch, though, might be the GX-56 variant. As noted by the popular enthusiast website G-Central, the GX56BBR-1 now represents the only active GX-56 with a positive display.

That said, black digits on anything other than the standard LCD display make all five watches novel, while staying true to G-Shock’s classic color palette, where red and black are the two main characters.
