Casio isn’t what I would call a high fashion brand. The company is known for making affordable and reliable digital watches that prioritize utility above all else.
But that’s not to say a Casio can’t be stylish, especially when it’s in the hands of a tastemaker like A.P.C.
The French fashion label has linked up with the Japanese affordable favorite to create a classy and minimalist version of the latter’s classic A1000 digital watch. And it just might be the best-looking watch Casio has ever produced.

What makes the Casio x A.P.C. A1000 so attractive? Well, it’s a few things. For me, the most appealing detail is the dial. The LCD display remains unchanged, of course, but APC has gotten rid of all the extraneous labels, markings and colors with which Casio normally bombards the display, leaving only two subtle brand logos at the top.
The dial is also the same shade as the case and bracelet — either gold or silver, depending on which reference you choose — which contributes to the clean, simplified look. It also has a slight mirror effect for a bit of sheen. The mode labels for the pushers are still on the watch but have been moved to the caseback.
