No, Casio’s “vintage” watches aren’t actually vintage. They do look the part, though, which is one reason they’re so popular. That, and they’re damn awesome watches that are astonishingly affordable.
Take the Casio A158WA, for example. An evolution of the legendary F-91W watch that was first introduced in the late 1980s, the A158WA is silver steel instead of black plastic, but otherwise, it’s identical to the retro timepiece. And you can buy it from Casio right now for just $23.
For fans of that digital watch, it appears that Casio is now selling a desk clock doppelganger. That’s right, it looks identical to the Casio A158WA — but bigger.
Casio A158W Desk Clock

Casio A158W Desk Clock (DQD-851J-8JF)
The Casio A158W Desk Clock — officially named “DQD-851J-8JF” on the company’s website — is roughly four times the size. It’s 102 x 117 x 48 mm and weighs 185 grams (compared to the 46-gram digital watch). And while the two look quite similar, the desk clock and wrist-bound timepiece differ in some key ways.
The desk clock lacks stopwatch functionality but adds a thermometer, a humidity sensor, a full calendar, and a snooze button. Additionally, its amber LED light makes it suitable for a nightstand. If you use the desk clock in Japan, it has a Wave Ceptor function that allows you to local radio broadcasts, too.
