Did Hell just freeze over?

Back when Swatch and Omega teamed up to shock the watch world and launch the MoonSwatch in 2022, Swatch declared that the affordable Speedmaster homage would be available to purchase online at some point in the future.

For more than two years, we have waited. Through endless new MoonSwatch releases, with each one seemingly harder to get a hold of than the last (the most recent can only be purchased at select Swatch stores for a few hours during a literal blue moon), we waited for Swatch to finally make the MoonSwatch available to buy online.

Honestly, I’d given up hope, but that day has finally arrived. Starting today, you can buy the MoonSwatch online. Well, some of them anyway. Here’s the scoop.

Four MoonSwatches Are Available Online Starting Today

Beginning today, September 4, you can buy four of the original 11 MoonSwatch models directly from Swatch’s website.

The MoonSwatches in question are: The Mission to the Moon (AKA the one that looks most like an Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch), the Mission to Mars (AKA the red and white Speedmaster Alaska Project homage), the Mission to the Sun (AKA the yellow one) and the Mission on Earth (AKA the green and blue one).

Each MoonSwatch is available for $270, and shipping is free — though Swatch says shipping will likely be delayed due to overwhelming demand. There also only available in the U.S. and China for now. Oh, and there’s one more catch.

Swatch

Before adding a watch to your cart, Swatch is making you sign up for a Swatch account and log in. I created an account (for science), and you’re required to consent to Swatch using your data and to become a member of the Swatch Club. Signing up for Swatch’s newsletter is optional.

Honestly, it’s not much of a catch. We’ve all been waiting a long time to buy a MoonSwatch online, and now we finally have the ability to do so. Even if not every MoonSwatch is available — and Swatch hasn’t said if any more will be — there are some good options here, as these are among the most popular models, and I’m partial to the Mission to Mars myself.

So if you’re among the many who have been itching to buy a MoonSwatch but don’t live near a Swatch store and don’t want to pay inflated prices on the secondary market, then head on over to Swatch, create your Swatch Club account and make that purchase.
