The watch industry may be reeling from the China crises, let alone tariffs. But you wouldn’t know it on the microbrand scene, where small brands are popping up like dandelions at the first sign of spring.

Not all of them make it through the summer, of course. But some, like Brew Watch Co., have comfortably taken root and only get stronger with every passing year.

The fan-favorite brand turned 10 this year and has decided to celebrate the occasion by releasing what is easily its most impressive watch of the past decade.

Making moves, manually

The limited-edition Metric Manual Wind uses the existing Metric as a jumping off point. As such, it features a familiar 36mm rounded square case with an integrated-bracelet design, reminiscent of iconic sports watch from the ’70s and ’80s.

That said, it brings a handful of premium flourishes absent from the mainline Metric watch, first released in 2020.

Chief among them is a custom-engraved Sellita SW210-1B caliber, in case you didn’t pick up on the main party trick by the name alone.

The manual movement replaces the Metric’s routine mechaquartz interior, and it’s proudly displayed by way of the watch’s sapphire exhibition caseback.

The Metric Manual Wind also boasts a fully revamped dial, which shines brightly thanks to a set of applied indices the brand calls “mountain-top markers.” Their unique shape reflects light from all angles, while lume provides visibility after dark.

Finally, the watch clocks in at just 8.5mm thick. That makes it the brand’s slimmest design to date and sets a new standard for wearability that will be hard for it to top in the future.

Pricing and availability

For now, though, perhaps it’s best to just enjoy the offering for what it is.

The Metric Manual Wind is available now for $875 but limited to just 125 pieces across two colors.

The blue version is already sold-out, with the gray on its way.

Brew celebrates its 10th anniversary with a manual version of its flagship Metric watch. It features a Sellita SW210-1B caliber but perhaps more novel are its unique “mountain-top markers” that reflect light from different angles for a touch of extra sparkle.
