Watch collectors love original-owner, fresh-to-market watches — especially as concerns vintage Rolex. For some reason, there’s something alluring about inheriting (via a payment of potentially tens of thousands of dollars) a timepiece from somebody who purchased it new many, many years ago. It’s like buying yourself the memory of a cool grandfather in the event that your own grandfather was boring.
Well, if you’re one of those dudes (don’t get me wrong, as I also am one of those dudes), you’re in luck: beginning today, Bob’s Watches is holding an auction of “Fresh Finds” — “a curated selection of 16 remarkable vintage Rolex models that are entirely fresh to market and being offered to the public for the very first time.” Whoopee! Best of all, there are no buyer’s premiums in this auction (or any of Bob’s auctions), meaning what you bid is what you pay. Registration is required prior to bidding, and the auction started on June 8th and ends on June 15th at 5:00 pm PST.
Here are some of our favorite lots.
