Editor’s Note: Watches & Wonders (formerly SIHH) has moved online and Baselworld 2020 is canceled, but that hasn’t stopped watch brands large and small from debuting their new wares. Stay on top of this year’s best new watch releases here.
Who said watches dedicated to motorsports or classic cars have to all be chronographs? Swiss watchmaker Frederique Constant has gone the chrono route before whencelebrating its ongoing relationship with carmaker Austin-Healey, but its latest watches evoke racing themes in a three-hand, automatic package with new colorways. The two new Vintage Rally Healey watches now joining the collection include a rose gold-toned case and a version in steel with a “British racing green” dial.
For a brand that normally leans toward formal styling, FC took the Healey collection watches in a sporty, retro direction. (After all, they’re meant to reference vintage race cars from the 1950s like the Austin-Healey NOJ 393.) Both new versions have 40mm steel cases and are powered by the Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement.
Limited to 2,888 examples of each variant, both watches have a price of $1,895, and ship with a perforated leather “rallye” strap, as well as a miniature replica of the Austin-Healey NOJ 393 car that inspired the watches.
