Yes, yes, yes, we get it — you’re stuck in your apartment, or your parents’ basement, and you’re not going on any outdoor adventures anytime soon. You read Gear Patrol into the wee hours of the morning with a flashlight beneath the covers, living vicariously through an Outdoors & Fitness editor who is himself living vicariously through his own memories, wishing he, too, were back on a mountaintop somewhere.

You listen to James Stacey and Jason Heaton on The Grey NATO podcast on Thursdays, taking comfort that they, too, must be going out of their damn minds by now. You peruse WatchRecon, hoping that the price of 1601s has come down in the midst of the global pandemic and that this is finally your time to snag a Datejust at a bargain. (They have not. It is not. And you should be saving your money right now.)

But here’s something you can do, that you do have control over: You can get off your butt, head over to your computer and onto Oak & Oscar’s website and check out their new selection of nylon watch straps. They’re only available in 20mm, but this is the most common lug width kicking around today, anyway, and it’s fine. They’re $35, made from tightly-woven nylon, come in eight colors, and each feature cool orange stitching across the hardware. I don’t even like the color orange — in fact, I hate it. I hate it so very, very much. But it doesn’t remotely bother me here. It’s just the right pop of color for these NATOs, and it looks great. I give this orange a pass.

So stop feeling sorry for yourself. By all means, stay in your parents’ basements if you’re quarantined down there, but don’t let it get to you. Spruce up your favorite tool watch — and hopefully it’s an Oak & Oscar watch, but we’re sure Chase will forgive you if it’s a different one — with a new strap and dream of summer. Dream of adventurous things done with your adventure watch and its adventure strap. And support a small business making cool shit.
