Editor’s Note: Watches & Wonders (formerly SIHH) and Baselworld 2020 are canceled but that hasn’t stopped watch brands large and small from debuting their new wares. To stay on top of this year’s best new watch releases, visit our tag page.

From the super thin Slim d’Hermes to the square-cased Carre H, Hermès’s watch offerings are always compelling and unique. Their latest is the new Arceau Squelette, part of a collection designed in 1978 featuring asymmetrical stirrup-shaped lugs and an italicized, Breguet-esque typeface meant to evoke a galloping horse.

The Arceau Squelette is different from previous iterations in that it features a smoked sapphire crystal dial through which one can view the automatic movement beneath. Housed in a 40mm steel case, the dial features a black chapter ring with silvered indices and slim handset, while the Hermès signature floats upon the glass. Water-resistant to 30m, the new Arceau Squelette ships on a leather strap of the buyer’s choice available in several different colors and costs $8,600.
