There are plenty of colorful and fashionable Casio G-Shock watches out there, but longstanding collections like the Rangeman and Mudman often stick to their practical, rugged roots. Two new models now feature a blacked-out design, giving them an appropriately serious, tactical look in line with their originally intended use.
The Mudman was designed to keep out dust and and mud for professionals that might encounter such conditions, and the Rangeman is meant for land-based military use (as opposed to sea or air). Both are in the Master of G family within G-Shock’s lineup, and share the range of tough, technical features the brand is known for, here including bluetooth connection, various sensors, and Casio’s still-new Carbon Core Guard Structure (in the case of the Mudman).
With negative digital displays, the Rangeman model can be considered truly “blacked-out,” but the Mudman here appears more practical and legible with an analog display and white, contrasting hands. Prices will range between $330 and $380, and availability is expected for late February 2020.
