Victorinox is known for their cutlery and perhaps less so for their watches. Well, the Victorinox Alpnach Power Gauge Limited Edition is certainly both a head turner and a mouthful. With a 43.5mm case, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, Swiss automatic chronograph movement and a depth rating of 330 feet, it’s got all the bearings of a quality timepiece.
The subdials provide this watch with some nice features such as the “Cougar 4-Blade Rotor” (don’t ask) and a 42 hour power reserve, along with a 30 minute counter and a 12 hour counter. The black PVD crown and pushers match the dial and the bezel nicely, as does the black leather deployment clasp strap. Altogether, it’s a solid package and an attractive watch, even though it can decide which military service it belongs to.
