Breitling’s still relatively recent Navitimer 8 collection continues to expand with new options and color variations. The latest is a collaboration with the United Arab Emirates’ Etihad Airways, and in line with Breitling’s heavily aviation-themed personality, it joins a line of watches from different collections in partnership with various airlines. Notably, this dial features Arabic numerals — that is, Eastern Arabic numerals, as used in Arabic-speaking countries — as well as other text.

The new Breitling Aviator 8 Day & Date 41 Etihad Airways Limited Edition takes the form of the 41mm-wide Aviator 8 Day & Date watch, here in black DLC-coated steel. Introduced in 2018, the Aviator 8 is a more conservative Breitling collection with a cleaner, slightly retro look and restrained sizes. It’s powered by a COSC chronometer-certified version of the ETA 2834-2 that the brand calls the “caliber B45” with automatic winding and around 40 hours of power reserve. Not only are the gold hour indices in Arabic, but the date indicator at 6 o’clock and the day of the week at 12 o’clock are also.

Limited to 500 pieces, the Breitling Aviator 8 Day & Date 41 Etihad Airways Limited Edition will be available only in Abu Dhabi, UAE, until early 2020, when it will be available worldwide for a price of $4,995.
