The famously tough triathlon Ironman seems like an appropriate pairing for a watch brand like Breitling known for its bold case sizes and charismatic persona. Announcing the new partnership, in which Breitling is the “Official Luxury Watch of Ironman” and which will undoubtedly involve Breitling branding at events, the Swiss company has also released a limited edition of its Superocean dive watch to commemorate the parnership. The Breitling Superocean Ironman will, in turn, feature Ironman branding and matching red highlights.
The Superocean is Breitling’s core dive watch collection, and this version is 44mm wide in a steel case water-resistant to no less than 1,000m. It’s powered by the ETA 2824-2 automatic movement, which helps place the Superocean closer to the brand’s entry point price. A red rubber strap further accentuates the dial’s red accents, and the large Ironman logo spanning from the dial center to the 3 o’clock position in white and red hopefully won’t be mistaken at a glance for the white-lumed hands.
At a price of $3,950, Ironman winners will easily be able to afford one as memorabilia (first place winners get $650,000), and with a total of 300 pieces produced, runners-up will also have a chance. The Breitling Superocean Ironman Limited Edition is available for preorder now.
