The Swiss watchmaking manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre is steeped in history. The combination of Jaeger and LeCoultre, one a Parisian watchmaker and the other a Swiss watch maison, has been the mark of the discerning man looking for old-world craftsmanship with cutting edge styling. The serene Vallée de Joux in Switzerland has been a never-ending source of inspiration for the manufacture. It’s still housed under a single roof, and carries on the same spirit that was put forth when the first LeCoultre — the family behind the watches — set foot in the Vallée de Joux in the 16th Century.

The force of creative imagination has driven the Jaeger-LeCoultre workshops in the Jura mountains from a farmhouse to an internationally acclaimed watchmaker, giving rise to countless watchmaking advances and inventions — never losing sight of its origins. The original farmhouse mentioned above is still part of the watchmaker’s headquarters today. Now, it’s surrounded by modern buildings with dedicated research teams, designers, and craftspeople coming together to invent and develop cutting-edge creations worthy of the Jaeger-LeCoultre legacy. Watchmakers, engineers and designers, all combine their efforts and expertise, united by a shared passion for watchmaking. The manufacture’s irrepressible genius has led to the conception of no fewer than 1,262 calibres and some of the most iconic wristwatches in the world.

With the Art Deco-inspired Reverso first released in 1931 — and famously worn by the likes of General Douglas MacArthur and Amelia Earhart — Jaeger-LeCoultre’s watches have been admired as cutting edge since its inception. The more modern Duometre is the pinnacle of high watchmaking and embodies the elaborate watchmaking and incredible detail expressed through delicate handcrafts that Jaeger-LeCoultre has become known for. From calibre to case, these timepieces are designed, crafted and assembled in the manufacture by more than 180 skilled workers under a single roof. This is the hallmark of Jaeger-LeCoultre style, within which unique expertise and age-old artistic crafts come together in an ongoing quest for sophistication and elegance.
