Lately we’ve seen several more inventive takes on the moon phase display come across our desks, including this fun example from Christopher Ward.
Girard Perregaux’s latest creation features a more traditional moon phase layout with pointer date display, but the 40mm steel case is conspicuously black DLC-coated, making for a badass, stealthy look. Slotting into the 1966 Collection, the Blue Moon features a blue and black dial, a thin leaf handset, an automatic movement beating at 4Hz and a matte alligator strap with blue topstitching.
If you like the look of a classically inspired moon phase display but yearn for something more…tactical? This could be your move. Pricing is CHF8,950, or ~$9,033.
