Made to tell the time tactilely for the visually impaired, the Eone Bradley watch has proven to have a far broader appeal than its originally intended demographic. It’s ironically become fashionable due to its unique, minimalist look and compelling story. Eone focuses on a single product, and there’s just about nothing else like out there like the Bradley, but the brand has introduced various lines like the Edge, which offers some appropriately monochromatic new colorways.
The Eone Bradley does not have the traditional dial covered by a crystal as most (almost all) watches do, and instead indicates the time via ball bearings in grooves — one on the top for the minutes and one on the case side for the hours. Driven by a Swiss quartz movement, the ball bearings are set and moved by magnets. The watch “face” is ceramic with raised markers that, of course, allow one to tell the time by feel but also provide visual depth to the design. With a 40mm-wide, 11.5mm-thick stainless steel case, the Bradley Edge is not large but sits tall on the wrist, and its wearability is aided by hinged lugs.
In new graphite, silver, and rose gold-toned cases, the Bradley Edge comes on a leather strap for a price of $285.
