Summer is a time for short sleeves and bold, colorful watches (if that’s your thing). These new Swatch watches are made for just that type of weather and disposition, with 47mm-wide dimensions that will nonetheless wear easily thanks to their lightweight plastic cases and silicon straps. Descriptively named the Big Bold collection, a wide range of color combinations have an urban streetwear feel with an interesting, 3-D-printed “bumpy” dial texture that’s echoed on the straps.
While strong on the summer vibe, the Swatch Big Bold watches are best left poolside or beachside when going for a dip with a water-resistance of 30m (normally described as “splash-resistant” and not meant for swimming). However, they are ready for easy-going situations day or night, arrow-shaped hands that glow with Super-LumiNova and highly accurate quartz movements. Price is consistent with the watches’ casual nature at $100 for any model.
