Bell & Ross’s aviation instrument-inspired watches constitute a fun, unique take on the modern military timepiece, but the French brand has proven in recent years that it knows how to design a more classical, round watch just as well as anyone.

One of our favorites, more traditional collections is the BR V, which has numerous standout models. Though the BR V2 92 isn’t a new reference, Bell & Ross just released this time-and-date model in a beautiful new “military beige” dial, available on either a steel bracelet ($3,200) or a Marine Nationale-style elastic canvas strap ($2,900). The V2 92 features the cal. BR-CAL.302. automatic movement, a 41mm satin-polished stainless steel case, a bi-directional rotating aluminum bezel, a screw-down crown and 100m of water resistance.

Also new is the V2 94 chronograph in military beige, which features the cal. BR-CAL.301 automatic movement with hours, minutes, small seconds at 3 o’clock, date, 30-minute totalizer at 9 o’clock, central chronograph hands and a 41mm satin-polished stainless steel case. The chronograph is $4,600 on steel or $4,300 on the elastic canvas strap, and pre-order for both watches is open now (delivery begins in April, 2019).

Sinn 104 St Sa I A (~$1,300+)
IWC Pilot’s Watch Automatic Spitfire ($4,900)
Breitling Navitimer Ref. 806 1959 Re-Edition ($8,600)
