Timex is adding more variety to their collection of handsome and affordable Marlin Automatic watches. In case you don’t remember, the Marlin returned in 2017 as the Timex’s first mechanical watch in decades with a hand-wound Chinese movement, and an automatic version followed with a Japanese movement and slightly larger case dimensions. Most importantly, both versions look great and are very affordable. They proved unsurprisingly popular, and the brand has continued filling out the Automatic collection with more strap and color options.
New versions include stainless steel and gold-tone models with versatile mesh bracelets, as well as black dials with options such as gold-tone accents for the hands and markers. The Timex Marlin Automatic cases are 40mm wide, feature transparent case backs for viewing the automatic movements inside, and are water-resistant to 30m. The version on leather retails for a very competitive $249, while the two new models on mesh sell for $259.
