Why Was This Watch’s Predecessor Called the Devil Diver?

Especially when it runs so, so well.

The Oceanographer GMT is Bulova’s way of reimagining its 1972 Bulova Oceanographer — which was dubbed the “Devil Diver” because its water resistance was rated down to 666 feet. Now, the new watch boasts a curved, rose gold–tone stainless-steel case and two-tone “root beer” bidirectional 24-hour bezel. Its black dial has been dotted with pops of rose gold and luminescent hour markers, and is topped by box sapphire crystal.

The watch is powered by a self-winding GMT movement and 24 jewels. It boasts a 42-hour power reserve and is protected by a screw-down caseback. Fans can shop the new launch today, in three distinctive styles.
