Todd Snyder’s New Timex Collaboration Is a Contemporary Take on the Classic Dive Watch

While it’s depth rating is lacking, this $158 watch is still a stylish everyday timepiece.

Having had a successful run of collaborative watches, Todd Snyder and Timex are back at it again with a new timepiece. But while the pair’s previous releases took design cues from specific Military-style field watches from the Timex archive, this new watch — the M1 Maritime — is a contemporary take on the classic diver.

The watch comes in at 41mm in diameter and features a clean case and lug design as well as a relatively slim timing bezel. The dial is equally toned down, utilizing printed indices in place of Arabic numerals. The watch is available in two colorways: a stainless steel case with an off-white dial or a black-coated case with a black dial. Both come with a black and gray striped nylon NATO strap.

If there’s a sticking point with the watch, it’s that its paltry 30-meter depth rating doesn’t align with the deep-diving looks the rest of the watch promises — those craving more performance are better off looking elsewhere. Still, for those who just want a stylish, relatively-affordable watch, the M1 Maritime, like other Todd Snyder Timex watches, doesn’t really disappoint.
