Oris’s new Big Crown ProPilot Worldtimer is not, as the name would suggest, a true world timer watch, but it does feature a sub-dial with a secondary time zone. The novel part is that the hours function on the main dial can be adjusted with the simple twist of the bezel, making time zone adjustment for frequent travelers much easier than fiddling with the watch’s crown, as is the case with most dual-time watches. Only IWC’s Timezoner (which costs a whopping $11,900) has a similar function.
The watch is powered by Oris’s Caliber 690, which is based on the ETA 2836-2 automatic movement and housed in a 44.7mm stainless steel case. The watch features a choice of either a black or gray dial with large, lume’d arabic numerals and the whole thing comes affixed to your choice of a fabric, leather or steel strap.
