There’s been a recent onslaught of affordable mechanical GMTs from smaller brands, and now an American indie watch brand — the Detroit Watch Company — has added its own to the list: the 1701 GMT. The watch is powered by an automatic ETA Caliber 2893-2 movement, which is housed in a 42mm stainless steel case that’s a fairly scant 9.2mm thick. The watch face has some great details, such as a blue seconds hand and SuperLuminova coating on the hour markers. The 1701 GMT will be available for pre-order at the beginning of September from Detroit Watch Company’s website, and will start at a very reasonable $1,350.
