Bell & Ross has just released a new collection of watches called the Garde-Côtes, which, as the name suggests (assuming you’ve been working on your French), is ostensibly a tribute to the Coast Guards. The collection is based on two watches from Bell & Ross’s refined line of vintage-inspired timepieces that debuted earlier this year at Baselworld: the three-hand BR V2-92 and the chronograph BR V2-94.
What distinguishes these watches from their standard iterations are the new choices in dial colors. The center is matte gray while the chapter ring is a bright orange — a nod to the Guards’ ultra-visible gear — the latter of which is a great small addition of color that (unintentionally) calls to mind the brighter tool watch designs of the late ’60s and early ’70s. Both watches will be available wth a choice of either a stainless steel bracelet or a rubber strap and will be available for purchase at Bell & Ross’s website. Prices start at $2,900 for the three-hand version and $4,300 for the chronograph, with the bracelet coming at a $300 premium for both.
