If you’re only familiar with James Bond through the most recent series of 007 films, you may not know that the character served as a commander in the British Royal Navy, a detail from Ian Fleming’s novels that signified Bond’s military service during WWII. Capitalizing on that fun fact, Omega decided to release a new iteration of the Seamaster — Bond’s choice of watch for the last 22 years — in a colorway that reflects the ensign colors of the British Royal Navy: red, white and blue.
The Commander’s Watch is based on the standard Seamaster Diver 300M, featuring the brand’s in-house Co-Axial movement, and comes in a 41mm diameter case. The colors are expressed on the watch primarily on the blue and red ceramic bezel and the white ceramic dial, though small colorful pops like the blue outlines of the hour markers and red date are also present. The watch comes with two straps: a colorful nylon NATO and a stainless steel bracelet. Both a stainless steel version ($5,000) and a solid gold version (approx. $29,073) will be produced in a limited series, with 7,007 of the former being made and only seven of the latter.
