All-black watches are undeniably cool. Though not everybody’s cup of tea, it’s tough to deny that their dark, tactical aspect just looks good.
Victorinox has thrown its hat in the all-black watches ring with a new entry in its FieldForce Sport Chrono collection. Built around a 42mm matte black PVD-coated steel case, it features a three-register design executed in a black dial with large white Arabic indices. A tachymeter scale on the watch’s fixed bezel makes for a classic look, while Super-LumiNova ensures that the whole shebang is visible at night and a date wheel included in the 12-hour counter brings added utility.

Powered by the Ronda 5030.D Swiss-made quartz movement, the FieldForce Sport Chrono is water-resistant to 100m and features a triple-coated, scratch-resistant, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, screw-in case back, and a matte black rubber strap. This is a good deal of watch for just $575, but Victorinox is also throwing in a matching Spartan PS Swiss Army Knife with matte black scales as an added bonus — and a five-year warranty.
