At Baselworld 2017, Tudor just launched the Black Bay Chronograph, the first watch in the Black Bay line to feature a chronograph movement and the first Tudor to use the new caliber MT5813, a new chronograph movement created in collaboration with Breitling. The movement is based on Breitling’s caliber B01 but has been reworked by Tudor. It features a new winding rotor, plus Tudor’s own finishing, regulating system, and a silicon balance spring. The dial layout features two subdials, one of which has a relatively unique 45-minute counter (most chronographs go for 30 minutes).
The rest of the watch is fairly standard Tudor fare. The Black Bay Chrono has Tudor’s iconic “snowflake” hour hands and a 41mm stainless steel case, and will be water resistant to 200 meters. The watch will come on either a riveted steel bracelet (like the Heritage Black Bay diver) and a leather strap; both versions will come with a denim strap, as well. The former will retail for $5,050, and the latter for $4,725.
