There are so many cool versions of Bell & Ross’s BR 03-92 that you could conceivably dedicate your collecting to this one, tiny niche of the horological landscape and never be bored. The latest iteration to join the BR 03-92 family is going for more of a funky, 1970s theme: the Diver Orange is, well, hella orange. Meant to be extra-visible underwater, this color rose to prominence via Doxa’s wares in the age of disco, bell bottoms, and ceaseless conflict in the Middle East. The bright, attention-grabbing dial of the new BR 03-92 contrasts with applied indices filled with white Super-LumiNova, a set of lumed hands and a black dive bezel for maximum visibility under (and above) water. In short: this is a watch that’s hard to miss.
Bell & RossBesides the orange dial, this is the same BR 03-92 we all know and love: BR-CAL.302. automatic movement with date window (one of the few date windows at 4:30 that doesn’t look like shit); 300m of water resistance; a 42mm steel case with satin and polished finishing; sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating (2.85mm thick, as opposed to the 1.5mm-thick version on the classic BR 03-92); a screw-down crown; a soft inner movement cage for resistance to magnetism; and a reinforced steel case back.
The Diver Orange, which ships in a water-resistant box and comes with two straps (a black rubber version with steel pin buckle and an orange synthetic fabric version with Velcro closure), is limited to 250 pieces and available exclusively through Bell & Ross’s boutiques and website for $3,900.
