Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Memovox Boutique Edition

Jaeger-LeCoultre was not the first watchmaker to make an alarm wristwatch, but the brand was the first to make an automatic alarm watch: the Memorex, which has long endured as an icon of 20th-century watchmaking. To celebrate 60 years since the Memorex was created, Jaeger-LeCoultre has created a limited boutique edition, modeled after the popular “Snowdrop” Memorex of the ‘70s, featuring a stunning blue dial.

A New German GMT

German watchmaker Mühle has just released a new pilot’s watch: the Terrasport IV GMT. It’s a 42mm stinaless steel watch utilizing a modified automatic GMT movement from Sellita. Meanwhile, the dial is a flieger design, with super legible, stark white-on-black numerals.

Patek Philippe: The Authorized Biography

This week, Patek Philippe announced a new 544-page book detailing the company’s 175-year history, written by British author and historian Nicholas Foulkes. The book also includes over 600 images and new photography of some of Patek’s rarest timepieces.

Admittedly by the 1960s, when this particular watch was made, Hamilton was on the decline and, as such, the dial indicates the movement is of Swiss origin. But the one-piece gold case? That was made in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
