On October 24, 1994, at Dresden Castle, Walter Lange showed off the first A. Lange & Söhne watches since the fallout of WWII cause the brand to enter a 40-plus-year hiatus. The collection, comprised of many of the models that make up today’s lineup, featured the Lange 1, the brand’s flagship model and the first watch to use an “outsize date” mechanism. To celebrate 22 years since that first product launch, a. Lange has unveiled a limited run of the Lange 1 Time Zone in “Honey Gold.”

Honey Gold is A. Lange & Söhne’s proprietary gold alloy that, compared to standard gold, is considerably harder and has a more subdued sheen. Also, as a nod to the Lange 1’s reveal 22 years ago, on the ring displaying world city names, Berlin (which normally represents Central European Time) is replaced with Dresden. Only 100 examples will be made, with an announced price of $64,300.
