Montblanc Celebrates 110 Years with a Tourbillon and a Snake

To celebrate its 110th anniversary, Montblanc created the Villeret Tourbillon Bi-Cylindrique, a massive 52mm red-gold watch featuring an in-house hand-wound movement with a prominent tourbillon cage. Most notably, the watch face is adorned with a highly detailed snake (according to Hodinkee, each scale has been engraved by hand). While a bit off-putting, it harkens back to the famous Montblanc “Rouge et Noir” collection, the brand’s first fountain pen collection that debuted in 1909 and featured a snake motif. Only three examples will be built and sold.
