A Grand Entrance

It’s always exciting when a new watch brand makes its debut, and Emmanuel Bouchet doesn’t disappoint. The brand’s namesake founder has chops, having cut his teeth building watches for some prestigious companies and his first effort at his own is a stunning visual and technical tour de force, with a double barrel and a double escapement movement fully visible to its lucky owner. The only concern with the Complication One is: how do you follow it up?

A Smarter Font

The Mondaine Helvetica 1 Smart Watch pays tribute to the 1957 introduction of the iconic and ubiquitous Swiss font with a limited-edition watch named for it. Going a step further, the timepiece uses MotionX technology to track its owner’s activity, sleep and fitness goals, linking up with a smartphone app so as not to clutter the clean dial.

Hit the Beach

Swatch enters the smartwatch arena in a way no one expected. The Touch Zero One is an activity-tracking watch, but one with a particular focus: beach volleyball. The watch detects hits, claps, movement and helps set goals for competitors and avid fans alike.

Hit the Road
