Samsung’s The Frame TVs have been around since 2017 and, over the last several years, have been among its most popular.

The so-called “lifestyle TVs” hang on your wall and, thanks to their framed border and ability to display artwork when idle, can blend into your home like few other TVs. And despite what you might think, they haven’t been wildly expensive.

Well, in large parts due to The Frame’s popularity, some of the biggest TV brands (including TCL, LG and Hisense) have followed Samsung’s lead and released TVs that similarly blend into your home.

To further separate itself from these rivals, Samsung just announced it’s releasing a higher-end version of its The Frame TV. The key differentiator? A significantly improved picture.

As its name suggests, Samsung’s The Frame Pro is an upgraded version of its existing The Frame TVs. While the regular The Frame (which Samsung continues to sell) and the “Pro” models look basically identical, the real difference is their displays.

Instead of the QLED display in its The Frame TVs, Samsung has given The Frame Pro TVs its newest Neo QLED displays with mini-LED backlighting. This promises to improve the picture’s contrast and brightness significantly.

This also allows The Frame Pro TVs to support local dimming — which the regular The Frame does not — and thus should deliver much deeper true blacks (which further lends itself to improved contrast).

The refresh rate of The Frame Pro has also improved, now maxing out at 144Hz (compared to The Frame’s 120Hz), making it a better TV for gaming.

A wireless control box

For those familiar with Samsung’s The Frame, you’ll know it lacks any HDMI ports on the actual TV. Instead, a cord runs to a control box that houses all the connections. This way, you don’t have multiple cables hanging from the TV, which would break the illusion of the TV being a piece of art.

With The Frame Pro, this is still very much the case … except there’s no cord running from the TV to the control — it’s all wireless. This means there’s no cable to conceal and should give you greater freedom to place the control box where you want in the room.

According to the brand, the wireless control box will need to be within 10 meters (30 feet) of The Frame Pro TV.

Price and availability

Samsung announced The Frame Pro earlier this year at CES 2025 — along with the rest of its 2025 TV lineup — but at the time, it didn’t disclose a lot of key information, including what sizes the Frame Pro TV would come in or how much they would cost.

As of April 2025, that has since changed.

The Frame Pro TV will be available in three sizes —  65-inch ($2,199), 75-inch ($3,199), and 85-inch ($4,299) models. This is a pretty significant change from the regular “non-Pro” Frame TV, which maxes out at a 65-inch model and costs $1,799.

Samsung’s The Frame Pro TV are available for order now on the company’s website and Amazon.
