This Stunning Apple Watch Accessory Jumps on a Surprising Luxury Watch Trend

Recently, luxury watch brands have been looking for new ways to make their watches glow in the dark. Most interestingly, last year, IWC stealthily revealed a new proprietary material called Ceralume that allows ceramic cases to absorb light during the day and then glow at night.

While maybe not quite as sophisticated, third-party accessory makers for the Apple Watch have jumped on this trend, too, looking for ways to bring a similar glow-in-the-dark effect to the world’s most popular watch.

A new icy blue

Nomad is one of the most well-known makers of glow-in-the-dark bands for Apple Watch. Its Glow Sports Band has been around for a few years — although it released an updated version, the Glow 2.0, last year — and has proved extremely popular.

And then just early this year, in January 2025, the brand released an even cooler limited-edition version of its Sports Band in an “Icy Blue Glow” colorway, which sold out very quickly.

Glows 3x as bright

Announced today, Nomad is bringing the same Icy Blue Glow finish to its Rocky Point watch brands. These are similar to its Sport Band line but have a more rugged design.

Like before, the Icy Blue colorway is less “loud” compared to the bright green of Nomad’s original Glow Sport Band (which looks almost white when worn during the day). But during the night, it shines up to three times as bright.

Fits most Apple Watches

Nomad’s Rocky Point Band in the Icy Blue Glow colorway is designed to the Apple Watch Ultra and Ultra 2, as both have the same 49mm size.

However, Nomad says it can also fit any current or past Apple Watch in the Series or SE lines. It just might be a tad bulky.

Titanium hardware

The Rocky Point Band is designed for adventures. It’s made of durable, waterproof FKM fluoroelastomer rubber, and ventilation grooves help with breathability.

Additionally, the band features titanium accents, which you can get in silver or black finishes so that it matches your Apple Watch’s case.

Price and availability

Nomad’s Rocky Point Band in the new Icy Blue Glow colorway is available now from the company’s website. It costs $89, which is a $10 increase over the same band in more traditional colors (such as black, green, blue and yellow).

Like last time, the Icy Blue Glow is a limited-edition colorway. While Nomad hasn’t specified exactly how limited it will be, you can bet it’ll probably only be available for a pretty short time.
