Have you ever wanted a portable television that you can wheel around your house, taking it from room to room as you go? Then, should you like, have the option to hang it on the wall, use it touchscreen tablet, or even turn it into an external monitor for your laptop?
The LG StanbyME 2 is a 27-inch portable TV that’s incredibly versatile. LG
The LG StanbyME 2 is the successor to the brand’s original portable touchscreen TV, the StanbyME, which was released in 2023. However, the second-generation model boasts several upgrades that make it a better TV and also significantly more versatile.
Unlike the original, the LG StanbyME 2 has a detachable screen, which you can use like an oversized tablet. LG
A picture upgrade
First and foremost, the StanbyME 2 is a better-looking TV. It’s the same 27-inch size as its predecessor, but it now delivers a higher-resolution picture (1440p instead of the original’s 1080p).
The smart TV runs on LG’s webOS and is powered by the latest-generation Alpha 8 AI processor. According to the brand, it can harness AI to detect what you’re watching and automatically enhance picture and sound quality accordingly.
The LG StanbyME 2 features a four-hour battery life and can be used both indoors and outdoors. LG
A touchscreen that detaches
Like the original model, the StanbyME 2 has a built-in battery (which promises up to four hours of runtime on a single charge) and comes on a stand with wheels, allowing you to roll the TV from room to room and without needing a power connection.
However, unlike the original, the StanbyME 2 can be detached from the stand. You can then hang the TV on the wall, hold it like a tablet or place it on a surface. You can purchase optional accessories, such as a folio cover or a strap to hang it on a wall or stand it upright.

Laptop connection
The other big upgrade is that, in addition to HDMI and USB-A ports, the StanbyME 2 also has a USB-C port. This allows it to be connected to a laptop (or smartphone) and used as an external monitor.
This USB-C port can be used for recharging purposes, too, although it requires a 65-watt adapter or higher.
You can hang the LG StanbyME 2 on the wall, either vertically or horizontally. LG
Price and availability
For a 27-inch non-4K TV, the LG StanbyME 2 is undoubtedly expensive — it costs $1,300. However, not many TVs — if any — afford you such versatility.
The LG StanbyME 2 is available now from the company’s website.
