How many times a week do you lose track of your wallet? Once or twice? No, it’s probably more. Along with your smartphone and car keys, your wallet is the EDC you likely misplace the most.

When this happens, wouldn’t it be great if you could grab your iPhone, open an app, and instantly locate your wallet? One thousand percent.

Well, that’s the idea behind ESR’s Geo Wallet — it’s the first billfold wallet that supports Apple’s Find My network.

It’s the first billfold wallet with Find My support

To be clear, the ESR Geo Wallet isn’t the first gadget to add Apple’s Find My functionality to a wallet.

A quick Google Search of “AirTag wallet” will show you dozens of wallets with a compartment for an AirTag, Apple’s Bluetooth trackers that work with its Find My network. Nomad’s Tracking Card is an ingenious credit card-sized tracker with built Find My that slips into your wallet. And Apple’s own MagSafe Wallet is a minimalist wallet that works with Find My.

The ESR Geo Wallet hides its integrated technology really well.

The ESR Geo Wallet is different because it’s a full-sized wallet with a traditional billfold design. Yes, you can actually carry cash in it. It also has nine card slots, pockets for notes, receipts or coins, and a see-through compartment for your driver’s license. It’s also integrated with an RFID-blocking material to protect your cards from unauthorized scans.

The secret of the ESR Geo Wallet is that it’s integrated with a super thin Find My module — it’s hidden on the inside. With nothing in it, the Geo Wallet folds to be 15mm thick — for comparison, an AirTag is 8mm thick — and is basically just as thin as any other billfold wallet.

A wallet that you’ll have to charge

I wish it supported wireless charging. Instead, you’ll need to use this magnetic charger.

One of the obvious downsides to integrating such technology into a wallet — you’ll have to charge it. If the battery does die, the Find My app will show the wallet’s last known location before it died (which isn’t ideal if somebody steals it or you leave it in a car).

According to the company, the Geo Wallet can go five months on a single charge. Unfortunately, it doesn’t support MagSafe or wireless charging — which is a convenient feature of the Nomad Tracking Card — so you’ll have to use ESR’s proprietary magnetic charging cable.

Uniquely, the Geo Wallet does have a built-in speaker. So, just like an AirTag (or iPhone or Apple Watch), you can summon it to play a sound from the Find My app to help you locate it.

Price and availability

As far as looks go, the Geo Wallet is pretty handsome. It’s made of vegan leather — no, it won’t patina over time — and comes in seven different finishes: carbon fiber, twilight black, cocoa, opal gray, tangerine, elephant gray and aged leather.

ESR is currently running a Kickstarter campaign for the Geo Wallet. The “Super Early Bird” special costs $39, but this will eventually rise to around $55 when the Geo Wallet officially goes on sale.

The company is aiming to start production next month, with orders expected to be fulfilled by mid-September.
