Remember Apple’s MagSafe Duo? It was a 2-in-1 wireless charger (for iPhone and Apple Watch) with a unique foldable design. This made it convenient to take on travels, as it folded flat and took up nearly no space in your bag.

Sadly, Apple discontinued the MagSafe Duo last year when it released the first USB-C iPhones — the MagSafe Duo had a Lightning port — and it doesn’t look like it will come out with a new one.

The good news is that some of the most popular Apple accessory makers — including Twelve South and Belkin — have picked up the slack and released similar portable iPhone chargers with foldable designs.

We’ve rounded up the best below. (Note: after each product, there is a photo of that charger in its most foldable form factor.)

Twelve South ButterFly SE

Released in fall 2024, the Twelve South ButterFly SE is a newer and more affordable version of the company’s ButterFly. Like the original, the ButterFly SE is a foldable 2-in-1 charger that has two charging “wings”: a 15-watt charging pad for an iPhone (or AirPods) and a 5-watt charging puck for an Apple Watch. It’s available in a bunch of different fun colors (not just white, as shown).

(Note: The only real difference between the SE and the more expensive ButterFly is that the SE supports Qi2 instead of MagSafe, which has the same exact charging benefits but allows Twelve South to keep the price down.)

Belkin’s 2-in-1 foldable wireless charger is a higher-end option that comes with some distinct advantages. It’s wrapped in a “premium” fabric, so it theoretically feels nicer to handle. It also comes with five international plugs and a travel case to keep everything together, such as the included cable and high-capacity wall adapter. As for the foldable design, it holds stiff so that you can use it as an iPhone charging stand that supports StandBy mode.

Belkin 3-in-1 Magnetic Wireless Charging Travel Pad

Belkin’s 3-in-1 foldable charger is more capable but slightly less premium than the company’ 2-in-1 option (shown above); it lacks the wrapped-fabric finish and doesn’t come with a swappable international plug. But it adds a third for a wireless charger (for AirPods or another device) and comes with a travel-friendly carrying case.
