If You Buy Refurbished, This $1,000 Hi-Fi Speaker Is Ridiculously Cheap

The Mu-so Qb is a high-end wireless speaker.

Naim’s first-generation cubic speaker, the Mu-so Qb, is on sale right now on eBay. Originally $1,000, you can buy the wireless speaker for just $369. It’s a refurbished model, granted, but it’s a pretty great deal on a superb wireless speaker nonetheless. Amazon is selling refurbished models of the Mu-so Qb, too, but they are slightly more expensive.

The Mu-so Qb was released back in 2016. At the time, we wrote: “If you’re in the market for serious hi-fi sound that takes up less space than a stack of hardbacks, it’s tough to point you in any other direction than the Qb.” The Mu-so Qb sounds big for what it is, and it works with Spotify Connect and Apple’s AirPlay, and it has built-in Bluetooth for easy streaming, too.

The Mu-so Qb is cheaper than it’s ever been for a good reason — Naim doesn’t make it anymore. Just this past year, in 2019, Naim introduced the next generation of the Mu-so Qb, called the Mu-so Qb 2nd Generation (or the Mu-so Qb V2, for short), and stopped production of the original Mu-so Qb. The new speaker is almost identical to the original cubic speaker, just with way improved internals (for better sound and more connectivity) and a significantly upgraded volume dial. And you can purchase it for $899 on Amazon.

Still, it’s rare that you can such a good speaker at such a reasonable price. A “refurbished model” might not be ideal, but eBay has a 90-day warranty that you can fall back on.
