You may not have heard of AIAIAI, but the Danish audio company’s TMA-2 Modular Headphone was one of our favorite products of 2015 because, in addition to being a great-sounding headphone, it was also completely customizable: buyers were able to select from a number of different headbands, cables, speaker units and ear pads, and then assemble a pair of headphones perfect for them.
Today, the company announced a new version of that headphone, the AIAIAI TMA-2 HD Wireless.
The TMA-2 HD Wireless has better speaker drivers and now supports aptX HD, allowing it to play high-res, 24-bit audio (similar to CD quality). It has super soft, Alcantara earpads that are found in some of the company’s more recent headphones. And it charges via USB-C. Like before, the headphones ship with all the disassembled, modular parts, so you can switch between the various headbands, cables, speaker units and ear pads, as you wish.
The TMA-2 HD Wireless can be purchased in a wireless or wireless model. Wired models cost $295 and wireless models cost $350.
