Both of Bose’s newest smart speakers, the Home Speaker 500 and the Home Speaker 300, are on sale on Amazon right now.
The Home Speaker 500, which was released in 2018, is a smart speaker that’s a little bigger and better-sounding than a Sonos One, and it’s unique because it has a front-facing LCD screen that shows information like the song title and the album artwork. The Home Speaker 500 normally costs $399, but it’s $100 off right now.
The Home Speaker 300, which was just released in June 2019, is essentially a smaller and cheaper version of Bose’s Home Speaker 500. The main tradeoff, aside from size and sound quality, is that the Home Speaker 300 doesn’t have a front-facing LCD screen. The Home Speaker 300 normally costs $260, but it’s $60 off right now.
Both of Bose’s smart speakers can be configured with either built-in Alexa or Google Assistant, just like the latest Sonos speakers. They support AirPlay 2. And they can easily be configured in a multi-room system with each other, as well as Bose’s soundbars: the Soundbar 500 ($549) and Soundbar 700 ($799).
